The Reality of Overpopulation
POPULATION is the total number of persons inhabiting a country, city, or any district or area. When a population reaches this state generally defined as an inability of the environment to support the existing population of humans or other living things, it is called OVERPOPULATION.
Overpopulation is one of the major issues around the world. It has been faced by many countries and have suffered from its effects. It is a problem because of its detrimental effect to the aspects of the society and would affect the relationships between other communities. To further substantiate overpopulation, let us discuss its causes and effects to the society.
Causes of Overpopulation

These are some major causes of the issue: overpopulation.
1.) Decline in the Death Rate: The fall of death rate due to advancement in the field of medicine is a cause of overpopulation. The field of medicine to combat diseases is producing new methods and new products. Therefore there is the extension of the life expectancy of individuals. Although it is beneficial in nature, it still has some detrimental effects, which is the rise of population.
2.) Rise in the Birth Rate: With the advancement of the field of medicine, it has found some ways to promote fertilization of beings thus in return the increase of population in this world.
3.) Migration: With the on-going changes in the field of economy and commerce, people tend to look jobs on urban communities like cities. They believe that there is a high opportunity for jobs living in these communities thus leaving their location and settling down in these communities. It is a fact, that the population does not change worldwide but there is a rise of population in that area thus increases in the population density in that area and if continued, the government could not support the needs of the society.
4.) Lack of Education: Some areas fail to meet education. Education is where we could get information and apply it in our daily lives. Illiteracy is a common problem when it comes to education. People therefore would not gain enough knowledge and information regarding the topic and could not apply it in their lives. Thus, there is rise of no awareness of some issues.

Effects of Overpopulation

The effects of overpopulation are something that will be natural. When a country has come face-to-face with overpopulation, it gives problems and more issues that are inevitable to avoid. The effects are mostly economical. Here are just some effects when faced with overpopulation:
- Prices of certain commodities are high because the demand has exceeded the natural resources.
- The earth is polluted because of shortage of natural materials.
- Bodies of water are polluted because of high level of population and industrialization.
- Electric energy is insufficient because traditional sources of energy are limited or deprived.
- Animals, farm or wild, are disappearing because of over-hunting and environmental destruction.
- Predators have disappeared because of insufficient wilderness.
- Flora is being wiped out to make place for cash crops to feed the hungry humans.
- Governments are regulating hunting, fishing, and recreation.
- Taxes have increased dramatically.
- Cost of living is very high.
- Countries go to war for natural resources and living space.
Overpopulation in a Wider Perspective
Degree of Population Density
There are at least 15+ countries that are overpopulated. Most notable countries that are populated are Bangladesh, China, India, and many more. Some countries that are overpopulated affect not only their people but also the relationships between other countries. Take for China; for example, China Is considered being a first-world country due to its booming economy as an industrial kind. The issue regarding overpopulation affects their relationship in a sense that there rises a problem on the management of resources and the protection of their environment. China is an important country in the whole world because most resources came from the country. If a certain issue affected their country, the whole world would fall also. But that is not the case; China today has taken some problems regarding the issue. As a communist country, they have adopted a one-child policy that would order that parents should only conceive one child in their family, although this policy is being talked about until today if whether is this ethical to them or not.
All war represents a failure of diplomacy.

Faith in Diplomacy
In this world of ours, many countries are in the state of overpopulation. These countries certainly know their countries and try to solve it by peaceful means. They solve these issues with the sense of diplomacy. Before we proceed, what is diplomacy in the first place?
Diplomacy according to Merriam-Webster.com is a skill in handling affairs without arousing hostility
Overpopulated countries are finding ways to solve the issue peacefully as they can that would still follow the standards of the community. Countries are performing diplomacy to resolve the issue of overpopulation. Most overpopulated countries are taking action the program of family planning. This is already a concrete example of diplomacy taking effect.
Our idea of diplomacy is still not yet clear at this moment, however we aim to see the beauty of diplomacy at the end.

This Project
Of course, our task here is not discuss overpopulation but how does diplomacy can reign in solving problems in certain issues. In this project of ours, we would like to express diplomacy in our way of creating this website. Among the countries that are said to be overpopulated, the Philippines have a sense of uniqueness in solving this issue. We would like to discuss the setting of this country and relate their uniqueness worldwide in a sense of inspiring them. What makes the Philippines solve their problem is the RH Bill or the Reproductive Health Bill.
